Rockwell Collins has received the industry’s first
Technical Standard Order approval for a Multi-mode Receiver (MMR)
with Local Area Augmentation System (LAAS) functionality. The
Collins GLU-925 MMR is the most advanced system to date, and is the
first to include LAAS and GPS landing system (GLS) in addition to
ILS and GNSS.

SUMMARY: The FAA is rescinding an existing
airworthiness directive (AD) that applies to certain McDonnell
Douglas Model DC-10 series airplanes, Model MD-10 series airplanes,
and Model MD-11 series airplanes. That AD requires repetitive
inspections of the numbers 1 and 2 electric motors of the auxiliary
hydraulic pump for electrical resistance, continuity, mechanical
rotation, and associated wiring resistance/voltage; and corrective
actions, if necessary.
