North Carolina Third-Grader Submitted The Name 'Bennu'
An asteroid that will be explored by a NASA spacecraft has a new name, thanks to a third-grade student in North Carolina. NASA's Origins-Spectral Interpretation-Resource Identification-Security-Regolith Explorer (OSIRIS-REx) spacecraft will visit the asteroid now called Bennu, named after an important ancient Egyptian avian deity.
Ceremony Was Held During National Space Symposium In Colorado Springs
Two ultrasound devices developed by NASA's Johnson Space Center and Mediphan of Ontario, Canada, were inducted into the Space Technology Hall of Fame at the 29th National Space Symposium in Colorado Springs, CO, last month.
