Ultra To Acquire Aircraft Engine Power Management System From Xerion Avionix

Approved For Use On 95% Of GA Aircraft

Ultra announces its agreement to purchase, subject to regulatory approvals and other conditions, the AuRACLE product portfolio from Xerion Avionix on Sunday. AuRACLE is a digital engine power management system designed for the general aviation OEM and retrofit markets. It is certified as primary engine instrumentation and is approved for use on 95% of general aviation aircraft.

AuRACLE extends safe flight, lowers pilot workload and decreases annual operation and maintenance costs. Discriminators include; a patented display that provides the pilot with all critical gauges at a glance, thereby minimizing pilot distraction; a fuel computer and unique fuel-leaning process that lowers average fuel costs by 25%; a data recorder, redundant back-up monitoring system, and a patented Engine Interface Unit (EIU) that ensures low installation costs.

Xerion Avionix is based near Rochester, NY, Ultra’s existing Flightline Systems business, also based near Rochester already supplies engine management products and other mechanical and electromechanical instruments for the commercial aviation, military and business jet market. The AuRACLE product line and key engineering, marketing and support staff will become part of the Flightline Systems business. The AuRACLE system complements Flightline’s existing engine management offering and expands Flightline’s reach into the general aviation instrument flat panel market. The asset purchase will be financed using Ultra’s existing facilities and is expected to be earnings accretive after integration.

The acquisition is expected to complete by the end of September Paul Fardellone, President of Ultra’s Flightline Systems business, commented: “I am pleased that we have an agreement to purchase the AuRACLE as an extension of Flightline Systems’ aircraft instruments activity. Ultra has great strengths in a number of different aviation and instrumentation market niches that will be expanded by the addition of the AuRACLE product designs and the market positions they hold.”
