It will probably surprise few to learn Delta Air Lines CEO
Richard Anderson and other executives stand to make out like
bandits following the carrier's successful buyout of Northwest
Airlines last month... but you may be surprised to learn how large
of a stake employees will have in the combined carrier.
Hawker Beechcraft Acquisition Company, LLC (HBAC) reported lower
sales and operating income during the three months ending September
28, 2008, as compared to the same period in 2007 primarily
resulting from a four-week strike in August by the International
Association of Machinists (IAM).

Continental Hub To Use Shared Operational Information
Sensis Corporation's Aerobahn Service is now operational at
Newark Liberty International Airport. The service is being used by
Continental Airlines to provide real-time situational awareness of
aircraft taxiing to more efficiently manage aircraft pushbacks and
reduce taxi times at the carrier's New York hub.
The first major flight hardware of the Ares I-X rocket has
arrived in Florida to begin preparation for the inaugural test
flight of the agency's next-generation launch system. The test
flight is targeted for July 12, 2009.
Officials with Israel's Civil Aviation Authority say they're
fairly certain they know why a Cessna 172 crashed last month in the
Sharon region, killing all four persons onboard... and, like with
so many accidents, it could have been avoided.

their thoughts on the matter, while sweating out an economic
forecast that was looking more dour with the hour.
It's not everyday we're able to report on survivors from a
midair collision... yet ANN has reported on two incidents in as
many weeks with that fortuitous outcome. And, unbelievably, here's
a third story.
Predicts Eurocopter, Bell Will Supply Bulk Of 2,176 Helos
In a new study, "The Market for Light Military Rotorcraft,"
Forecast International projects that 2,176 light rotorcraft will be
produced for military use during the 10-year period from 2008
through 2017. The Connecticut-based firm estimates the value of
this production at $22.3 billion, in constant 2008 US dollars. The
new study generally defines a rotorcraft as "light" when it has a
maximum gross weight of less than 15,000 lb.
Boeing said world air cargo growth will expand at a 5.8 percent
annual rate over the next two decades, with worldwide air freight
traffic tripling through 2027, according to Boeing's World Air
Cargo Forecast 2008/2009.
The Helicopter Association International (HAI) announced this
week its "Salute to Excellence" award winners for 2009. The awards
program, now in its 48th year, recognizes outstanding achievement
performed by individuals or companies in the international
