It's harder to hit a moving target. Should Boeing be successful
in lobbying the Pentagon for more time to develop a larger aerial
refueling tanker for the US Air Force KC-X competition -- to offer
an alternative to the tanker put forth by a consortium of Northrop
Grumman and EADS -- then those parties could also use that time to
develop an alternative of their own, Northrop said this week.
Crewmembers onboard the International Space Station had to take
the unusual step this week of firing booster rockets to lower the
station's orbit, in order to avoid a chunk of space debris that may
have come within a mile of the orbital platform.
The Federal Aviation Administration needs to show even greater
support for general aviation in a key short-term strategic planning
document known as the FAA Flight Plan. That's the message in a
letter from Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association President Phil
Boyer to FAA Acting Administrator Robert Sturgell.

Embraer recently delivered the first of five Embraer 190 jets to
China’s Kunpeng Airlines Co. Ltd., one of the largest
operators on the Chinese regional aviation market. In July 2008,
during the 46th Farnborough Airshow, in the UK, Embraer announced a
firm order for five Embraer 190 jets by Kunpeng.
Apache helicopter pilots say the view from the sky indicates the
tide in Iraq may be turning. Soldiers of 4th Squadron, 3rd Armored
Cavalry Regiment, made the move from Camp Taji to Camp Stryker at
the Baghdad International Airport about a month ago.
The United States Air Force Historical Research Agency maintains
hundreds of thousands of historically significant US Air Force
documents representing some 70 million pages of interest to
historians, researchers, and Air Force buffs.
