RapidFlight Offers UAS OEM Demonstration in San Diego

RapidFlight to Showcase UAS at AUVSI XPONENTIAL in San Diego

RapidFlight continues to make significant strides in its collaboration with the United States Department of Defense (DoD) under the Replicator initiative. This initiative is a cornerstone of the DoD's strategy to deploy autonomous systems across various military domains. At the upcoming AUVSI XPONENTIAL 2024, set for April 22-25 in San Diego, California, RapidFlight will showcase its advanced modular UAS designs and digital, additive manufacturing prowess.

Building on its success from last year's Technology Readiness Experimentation (TREX23-2) at Camp Atterbury, Indiana, where the company demonstrated its ability to print, assemble, and operate long-range, high-payload UAS in record time, RapidFlight is set to highlight its tactical edge manufacturing capabilities. The company's modular approach to drone design allows for reconfigurable payloads to support diverse mission needs, including intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance (ISR), electronic warfare (EW), kinetic operations, and swarm tactics.

Mike Uffelman, Director of Customer Programs at RapidFlight, emphasized the company's role in addressing urgent and dynamic threats. "Our technology stack is fully ready for commercial deployment and allows for mission-customizable drone designs that can be built anywhere, dramatically cutting down on both costs and delivery times," Uffelman stated. According to him, RapidFlight's innovative manufacturing techniques can slash system costs by up to 80% compared to traditional solutions.

The company's capabilities include the production of Group 2 and Group 3 UAS, using varied power systems such as electric, gasoline, heavy fuel, and hydrogen. These aircraft are equipped with cutting-edge ISR payloads and communication systems, boosting mission effectiveness and situational awareness in contested environments.

At XPONENTIAL 2024, RapidFlight plans to provide an in-depth look into its technology and manufacturing advancements. By demonstrating its scalable, rapid-response production capacity, RapidFlight is poised to deliver thousands of UAVs with minimal lead time to the DoD and allied nations, thereby enhancing operational flexibility and readiness in the face of evolving global threats.
