Additional EASA STCs Announced For Aspen

Evolution Authorized For European-Registered Beech Bonanzas Pilatus PC-6 Aircraft

Aspen Avionics announced the approval of two additional EASA STCs for the Evolution Primary Flight Display (PFD) system Tuesday. Avionik Straubing of Germany has developed an STC for the Beechcraft Bonanza 33, 35, and 36 series aircraft and RUAG Schweiz A.G. of Switzerland has developed an STC for the Pilatus PC-6 series aircraft.

These are the first two EASA STCs incorporating the most current Evolution Software Version 2.x, which received ETSO authorization in April of this year. The 2.x Software provides many refinements to the PFD system over the previous Software Version 1.1. The expanded ETSO authorization received in April also includes Evolution Multi-function Flight Display systems, the EA100 Autopilot Adapter and certain flight display system variants specifically for helicopters and Part 23, Class III aircraft (those over 6,000 pounds).

“Owning and operating aircraft in Europe is an expensive proposition and so we feel good about providing customers with a more affordable and feature-rich retrofit glass cockpit option that gives pilots more utility out of their aircraft,” says Mark Ferrari, Aspen’s Vice President of Sales and Customer Support. “The Aspen system gives pilots the tools to have better situational awareness and reduced pilot workload in the busy European airspace."

Aspen’s European STC partner program continues to expand and installation approvals for many aircraft makes and models are currently being developed. A list Aspen Announces EASA STCs more of EASA STCs and the respective holders may be viewed or downloaded from the Aspen web site.
