Mexicana Buys 20 Embraer E190 Series E2 Aircraft

Firm Deal Is For 10 E190-E2 And 10 E195-E2 New Aircraft, Starting In 2q25

Mexicana de Aviación has ordered 20 Embraer E2 aircraft. The deal is for 10 E190-E2 and 10 E195-E2 jets. Deliveries will begin in 2Q25. Mexicana will configure the E190-E2 with 108 seats, and the E195-E2 with 132 seats – both in a single class layout. Mexicana will be the first E2 operator in Mexico, benefitting from the E2's low operating costs and fuel efficiency.

First Collective Agreement Addresses Concerns of All PAL Aerospace Pilots

PAL Aerospace pilots have reached a tentative agreement with management on a new employment contract. The three-year deal was unanimously approved by PAL Aerospace ALPA leadership on May 31 and contains significant improvements to scheduling, working conditions, compensation, job security, and benefits. The new agreement underscores the complexity and significance of representing a diverse group of professionals operating across multiple divisions and geographic locations. Over the next few weeks, the agreement will be shared with the entire pilot group, and then a vote will take place. If ratified, this will be the PAL Aerospace pilots’ first Collective Agreement.

Nearly $187 Million in Grants Heading To Modernize Airports

Projects Are Part Of The $25 Billion Total For Airport Improvements

Another round of funding for 90 airport-related infrastructure grants across 34 states is on the way. The projects are part of the $25 billion total included in recent law for airport improvements such as terminal expansions and baggage system upgrades, to runway safety enhancements. “Millions of people fly every day, and making sure passengers can get to and from their destinations safely, and with less stress, has been a priority..." according to the Dept of Transportation.

FedEx Pilots Hold Picket in Memphis

Upcoming "One FedEx" Program Ruffles Feathers at Cargo Carrier

FedEx pilots and the Air Line Pilots Association haven't been too keen on FedEx' new "One FedEx" scheme, to the point they're willing to set up an informational picket at their Memphis base. Roughly, the change is a consolidation of operating companies, which will herald a 10% dividend increase on the way to "$4 billion in benefits from transformation." It will bring FedEx Express, FedEx Ground, FedEx Services, and other FedEx operating companies into a single Federal Express Corporation.
