CAPT Lowers Price Of Ab-Initio Program, Announces New Transition Courses

Offered With Or Without Transport Category Rating

It's been six months since Flight Training Services International (FTSI) took over the Commercial Airline Pilot Training (CAPT) program from Embry Riddle... and in that time, FTSI has worked to make the program an industry-leading flight training organization. In fact, FTSI notes, 80 percent of CAPT cadets have been pre-hired with two of the program's five regional airline partners before completion of training.

Effective February 12, CAPT lowered the price of its ab-initio program from $89,995 to $74,995 for the first 50 students that enroll. In addition, CAPT announced two new courses:

  • The Airline/Jet Transition Course is designed for the individual who holds a Commercial Pilot Certificate with Multi-Engine and Instrument Ratings with at least 300 hours of flight time. The program prepares the candidate for an airline pilot position and includes a Commercial/Multi-Engine/Instrument review course (academics and flight) in a crew concept environment then on through the Airline/Jet Transition course culminating with 24 hours in a Transport Category Type FTD. Cost of this course is $24,295.
  • The Transport Category Type Rating Course mirrors the Airline Jet Transition Course with the option to add a type rating in any of the following aircraft: CRJ, ERJ, EMB 170/190, MD-90, 717, 737NG, 757/767, 777, and the A320. Cost of this course is $39,995.

The individuals that complete either of these courses are eligible for employment in cooperation with CAPT's partnering airlines at reduced experience requirements.

The CAPT Program provides a full immersion approach training individuals with little or no previous aviation experience to the highest standards of the commercial airline industry. CAPT uses the latest technology to deliver airline specific training, including in-flight video cameras, self-reflected journals, line operation safety audits, and curriculum centered on the fundamentals of Crew Resource Management. Upon completion of the program, graduates are fully prepared to meet the demands of the commercial aviation world.
