ALRA Calls For Boycott Of Minneapolis Airport, NWA

Group Says Airport Police Should Apologize For Craig "Ambush"

The American Land Rights Association has thrown its support behind embattled Senator Larry Craig, and is calling for a boycott of the Minneapolis-Saint Paul Airport and Northwest Airlines.

The Republican senator from Idaho is accused of attempting to solicit sex in an MSP men's restroom. He was busted in a June sting operation.

The ALRA says the airport police officers who arrested Craig "ambushed" him and "have effectively declared war on the West. They are primarily responsible for greatly weakening private property rights and Federal land use advocates in the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee and in Congress."

Huh? If that seems like a leap in logic, read on.

The organization says it is dedicated to "wise" use of resources, access to Federal lands and the protection of private property rights, according to the ALRA Web site. Craig is a member of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, according to the Associated Press.

The group said the airport police are "out of control" therefore, "We must inflict economic pain on the airport authorities to get them to change their behavior."

As for Northwest, it seems to have gotten caught in the crossfire.

"Northwest Airlines uses Minneapolis St Paul as their main hub. They are also headquartered in Minneapolis. So we would suggest that you also avoid using Northwest Airlines. That will put additional pressure on the airport authorities and police to change their behavior," said the group in a statement.
