Embraer Holds Operators Conference In Paris

Attended by 36 Embraer operators from Europe, the Middle East and Africa

Embraer held its Operators Conference (EOC), focusing on the ERJ 145 and the E-Jets families, this week, at the Meridien Montparnasse Hotel, in Paris, France, September 24-28. The meeting was attended by representatives of 36 operators from 24 countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, as well as Asia Pacific and the Americas. Several Embraer partners and suppliers also participated in the event.

“We are very pleased to see our annual operators conference in Europe attracting so many participants,” said Mauro Kern, Embraer Executive Vice President, Airline Market. “This is especially true when, for the first time, our E-Jets family is operating on five continents. We are investing significantly in the constant development and improvement of our customer support network and the EOC is a unique and fundamental event, which enables us to get direct feedback from our operators. Embraer is committed to giving its customers the best support, and this applies to all the commercial airplanes we have built, including the Brasilia, Xingu and Bandeirante turboprop aircraft.”

This annual conference seeks to bring together Embraer representatives, operators, partners and suppliers and provide them with an opportunity to share experiences and vision for the technical, operational and logistics aspects of the fleet of Embraer commercial jets. Sharing experiences allows for implementing optimized solutions that meet the needs of all the agents involved in manufacturing and operating the aircraft. These meetings result in strengthening the customer relationship and contact network, as well as reinforcing the commitment of Embraer, its partners and suppliers to the customers’ success.

The EMBRAER 170, the first member of the E-Jets family, entered service for the first time in Europe, with LOT Polish Airlines and Alitalia Express, in 2004. Since then, the three other members of the E-Jets family – the EMBRAER 175, EMBRAER 190 and EMBRAER 195 – have joined the EMBRAER 170 and are now in commercial operation in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. In these regions, the E-Jets operate at temperatures ranging from -35°C, in Finland, to 50°C, in Saudi Arabia, and are used by low-cost and regional airlines, as well as traditional carriers. On June 30, 2007, Embraer had logged 655 firm orders and 719 options for the E-Jets family, totaling 1,374 aircraft.

The renowned ERJ 145 family of jets, of which the 1,000th is about to enter service, boasts a history that has made it one of the most successful programs in the world’s aeronautical industry. In operation since 1996, the ERJ 145 family has accumulated over 11 million flight hours, for a mission completion rate of more than 99 percent. In 2002, the Company established a joint-venture with China Aviation Industry Corporation II (AVIC II), named Harbin Embraer Aircraft Industry (HEAI). HEAI was Embraer’s first initiative to establish an assembly line outside of Brazil, and manufactures the ERJ 145 regional jet family, in order to better meet the needs of the Chinese market, in terms of commercial aviation products. On June 30, 2007, Embraer had logged 915 firm orders and 131 options for the ERJ 145 family of regional jets, totaling 1,046 aircraft.
