FAA Hosts NOTAM Industry Day In DC Area

Will Discuss Modernization Efforts As Relates To NextGen

The FAA Aeronautical Information Management group (AIM) is hosting a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) Industry Day. NOTAM Industry Day is an event where AIM shares the latest modernization efforts in aeronautical information. There will be a variety of presenters and time will be given for questions and answers to highlight the progress in modernizing the NOTAM system as part of the Next Generation Air Transportation System (NextGen) initiative.

The session will be held on May 3rd from 0900-1600 at the Department of Commerce/NOAA Science Center in Silver Spring, MD. Topics will include modernizing the NOTAM System to enable advancement and backup of future systems, aligning FAA policy with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and modernizing NOTAM entry and distribution, and streamlining domestic NOTAM entry by working directly with all NOTAM originators including public airports, commercial tower operators, and FAA Technical Operations Services (AJW).

There is no cost to attend the session.
