The Governator Visits Robinson Helicopter

"I'm Amazed At The Kind Of Work That You Do Here..."

The Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger, visited Robinson Helicopter Company on one of the last days of his campaign tour. RHC was chosen to host the Governor based on the leadership role the company holds in aviation and the positive effects it has on the aerospace industry in California.

Schwarzenegger arrived at RHC and was guided by Frank Robinson on a tour of the manufacturing facility. The tour began with a look into the newly built 220,000 square foot building, which primarily manufactures helicopter parts using state-of-the-art machines. Frank then showed the Governor the east building, walking through sub-assembly, inspection, electrical, and the final assembly line.

Frank explained the parts and procedures that take place in each department and answered Schwarzenegger’s questions pertaining to the company, sales statistics, and international distribution. The Governor stopped several times along the tour to greet employees and inquire about the work taking place. At the conclusion of the tour, the employees were invited to listen to a short speech given by the Governor.

Speaking to approximately 1,200 employees in the Flight Test Hangar, the Governor told the audience, “I'm amazed at the kind of work that you do here. Each one of the stations that you just took me to, the detailed work that you have to do, and the kind of responsibility that you have to make sure that… those things fly. It's really amazing when you think about it.”

Schwarzenegger then praised the company for “employing so many people…this is what I call the backbone of our economy here in California.”
