Man Says 'Bomb' On Flight, Gets Arrested

Jet Searched After Uneventful Landing At ANC

A Wyoming man was arrested in Anchorage last week for causing a disturbance on an Alaska Airlines flight.

Kirk Frederick Forest of Cheyenne, WY was arrested for interfering with a flight crew, FBI spokesman Eric Gonzalez said. He was arraigned on the federal charge Thursday.

"He was kind of agitated, and he made a threat against the plane," Gonzalez said.

Gonzalez said the nature of the threat was still being investigated, but Alaska Airlines spokeswoman Amanda Tobin Bielawski said Forest allegedly used the word "bomb."

Several passengers said Frederick, 38, was walking up and down the aisle of the plane holding a bible, when he said "bomb."

According to Bielawski, the incident happened about 20 minutes before the flight from Seattle to Anchorage was to land at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport.

The man was restrained, and the flight deck was locked, according to company officials.

Upon landing the plane was parked away from the terminal in a remote area of the airport. All 156 passengers and the flight crew de-planed and took a bus to the airports domestic terminal.
