Long-Term Agreement Signed For Dreamliner Nacelle MRO

UTC Aerospace Systems, Singapore's ST Aerospace Close The Deal

A long-term agreement has been signed between UTC Aerospace Systems and Singapore Technologies Aerospace Ltd. (ST Aerospace) to provide maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner nacelle systems for both the Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 and General Electric GEnx engines. The agreement enables ST Aerospace to offer a comprehensive range of nacelle MRO services using UTC Aerospace Systems' repair processes for customers worldwide.

ST Aerospace will invest in a wide range of repair and overhaul capabilities, and will maintain an inventory of aircraft components and parts to support Boeing 787 operators worldwide. It will have access to UTC Aerospace Systems' rotables pool while leveraging its global MRO network and close relationship with operators that have ordered the Boeing 787. UTC Aerospace Systems is a unit of United Technologies Corp.

"This agreement with ST Aerospace is just one more way that we can help ensure the continued successful entry into service of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner for airline operators around the globe," said Marc Duvall, president of UTC Aerospace System's Aerostructures business. "Over the years, we've developed an intimate understanding of our customers' requirements for high-quality MRO services with rapid turnaround times, which enables us to both respond to and anticipate their needs. This agreement with ST Aerospace extends those capabilities."

Chang Cheow Teck, president of ST Aerospace, added: "We are indeed very honored to be licensed by UTC Aerospace Systems as the inaugural MRO service provider for the Boeing 787 nacelles. With a global MRO network and comprehensive capabilities, ST Aerospace looks forward to working closely with UTC Aerospace Systems to ensure the best and most reliable support for Boeing 787 operators worldwide."

The agreement for nacelle system MRO follows the recent signing of a similar agreement for "nose-to-tail" support of other components manufactured by UTC Aerospace Systems for the 787 Dreamliner, including bleedless systems and liquid cooling components.
