Bob Hoover Legacy Foundation on Display at Int’l Council of AirShows Convention

Hoover Foundation Located at Booth #441 at ICAS19

Bob Hoover loved all things aviation, but he held a special affection for the airshow community and the immensely talented people that produced, staffed, and flew those shows. And… the airshow community loved him back just as much – and misses him greatly to this very day.

With that in mind, the Bob Hoover Legacy Foundation is pleased to note that it will be traveling to the annual International Council of Airshows convention in Las Vegas, NV, this December 9-12, 2019.

The Bob Hoover Legacy Foundation will be participating in the upcoming ICAS event, with their new tradeshow display, as an exhibitor, seeking partnerships and support from the community that serves as prominent aero-ambassadors to the rest of the world.

Taking place at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, December 9-12, the annual ICAS Convention serves as a rallying point for the airshow community who uses the event to compare notes, engage in safety meetings, book airshows and performers, and plan the coming airshow season… events which reach tens of millions of people each year and showcase the true talents and professionalism of the aviation community… just as Hoover did for a number of decades.

The Foundation will be a part of ICAS19 as an adjunct to its mission to promote the world of aviation, inspire and educate the next generation of aviators and aviation professionals, and to establish better relationships within the airshow community -- a community in which Mr. Hoover was intimately and actively involved for decades.

Portraying images and video from Hoover’s history of aviation excellence, the new tradeshow display (in display area #441), will be staffed by volunteers from the Foundation, who will be on hand to discuss the Foundation’s evolving efforts to honor Bob’s historic legacy with a more aggressive mission plan that will be revealed in coming weeks.

The Foundation is led by President Tracy Forrest, and Chairman Michael Herman, who work alongside fellow Board of Director George Gould, Brian Cochran, Joan Cochran, James G. Kidrick, and Rich Pickett.

Established by Bob prior to his passing in the fall of 2016, the Foundation’s purpose is to perpetuate Bob’s dedication to excellence, integrity, learning and mentorship that drove his fabled aviation career by financially supporting educational institutions and to inspire the next generation of American aviation leadership. The Foundation is a 501C3 tax deductible organization.

The Bob Hoover Legacy Foundation supports educational development and mentoring to people of all ages who are pursuing careers in aviation and aerospace. Through accredited institutions of higher education, the foundation will provide scholarships to deserving people who exhibit qualities representing the intellect, drive and generosity representative of future leaders.

In addition to financial scholarships, Bob’s wish is that the Foundation provide enhanced safety training, mentoring and networking opportunities and remains dedicated to partnering with other aviation/aerospace organizations adhering to the same basic precepts.
