ANN Names AOPA 2007 Major Sponsor: Diamond Aircraft

Visit Diamond Aircraft At AOPA Expo Display #121
and the Static Display!

ANN is proud to have friends like Diamond Aircraft to help us bring you coverage of the 2007 AOPA Expo. Each Diamond Aircraft is a testimony to efficiency in design. Not a line is wasted; not a curve is out of place. From the elegant DA20, and its roots in gliders... to the larger DA40 four-place birds... to the ALL-NEW DA50... and the gorgeous, Thielert diesel-powered DA42, these planes live up to their 'Diamond' moniker.

Diamond Aircraft is proud to take its rightful place at the NBAA 2007 Convention. With choices of two and four seat, single or twin engine, conventional piston or diesel, and conventional or glass cockpits, all Diamond aircraft offer performance, comfort, value, utility and safety -- and NOW, there's the exciting new DA50 and the D-Jet!

The single-engine D-Jet is now flying and working its way through flight test. The five-passenger D-Jet represents Diamond's impending entry into the burgeoning marketplace of very light jets (VLJs), which offers individuals and businesses jet transportation at acquisition and operating costs lower than those associated with traditional corporate jets.

First announced by Diamond Aircraft in January 2003, the single-engine Diamond "D-Jet" is powered by a single Williams FJ-33 turbofan, an engine also used in the upcoming twin-engine Adams A700 and ATG Javelin. The five-passenger D-Jet is expected to cruise at a maximum speed of 315 knots, at an altitude of 25,000 ft while offering range of 1,351 nm -- which translates to a decidedly un-jetlike fuel burn around 34 gallons per hour.

The composite aircraft features a Garmin G1000 glass cockpit, which in basic configuration features a dual screen PFD / MFD with integrated GFC 700 autopilot.

The optional enhanced avionics package adds a massive 15" MFD to the two 10" PFD's, a glare shield mounted autopilot controller for the GFC 700 and a center console mounted FMS controller.

Things You REALLY Should Know About Diamond Aircraft!
  • Did you know that Diamond has over a quarter century experience producing certified composite aircraft?
  • Did you know that Diamond Aircraft employs over 1400 people worldwide, with factories in Austria, Canada and China - making Diamond the only truly global manufacturer of piston aircraft?
  • Did you know that the Diamond fleet, with over 2 million hours flown since 1995, has the best safety record in General Aviation?
  • Did you know that Diamond is the ideal choice for pilots and aspiring pilots who want to have the ability to be able to step up from a single-engine plane all the way to their own jet?
  • Did you know that the DA40 series will outperform other 180 - 200 hp aircraft in speed, climb and runway performance, at higher density altitudes, and lower fuel burn?
  • Did you know that the new DA40 XLS retains all the advantages of the DA40 XL and offers more room under a wider, higher canopy, a new luxurious interior, and features WAAS-enabled GPS with the Garmin G1000, as well as standard Garmin FlightCharts and SafeTaxi?
  • Did you know that the DA40 CS shares all the strengths of the DA40 XLS but enables customers to configure the airplane to their needs with a long list of options and starting at an attractive base price of $259,950?
  • Did you know that the D-JET offers a luxurious cabin that¹s wider than a King Air, has the lowest acquisition and operating costs of any VLJ, and is designed to be flown by normal owner-pilots and pilots transitioning from high performance singles and light twins?
  • Did you know that the Diamond-Simulation offers Diamond-specific Flight Training Devices for the DA40, DA42 and D-JET, and that the D-JET Sim can be flown at AOPA expo?
  • Did you know that the DA50 Super Star is the first modern composite aircraft with space for 5 passengers, a 3-screen G1000 glass cockpit and a turbo FADEC engine which makes operating in the low flight levels a realistic option?
  • Did you know that Diamond Aircraft is the first manufacturer to introduce modern, turbo-diesel engines in certified aircraft - specifically, in the
    DA42 light twin?
  • Did you know that a Diamond DA42-tdi Twin Star crossed the Atlantic non-stop (a distance of over 1900 nm), in 12.5 hrs, burning a total of only 72 gallons of jet fuel?
