StandardAero RR300 Program Advances With Five Recent Engine Inductions

Also Implementing More Than 50 Individual Book Repairs

StandardAero says it has rapidly built up its capabilities and MRO services for Rolls-Royce RR300 helicopter engines, inducting five engines into the company’s Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada shop since signing its license agreement authorizing StandardAero as an RR300 engines service provider in December, 2013.  In addition to the accelerated intake of engines for repair and overhaul, StandardAero has also performed more than 50 individual book repairs for RR300 engine parts and accessories.

The company is now in full production mode and has worked closely with Transport Canada’s Delegated Engineering team to ensure and maintain the highest level of quality standards.  StandardAero’s first milestone on the RR300 program occurred on January 9, with the successful release of its first engine.

“We are excited to be the first independent, authorized MRO for the RR300 engine program in North America and we look forward to working with Robinson R66 helicopter operators around the world,” said Manny Atwal, Vice President, Helicopters for StandardAero.  “At this point we are developing training courses and continuing to qualify and train technicians while working closely with Rolls-Royce to ensure R66 operators receive the same levels of service excellence on RR300 engines that has made us the marketplace leader for M250 engine repair and overhaul.”

To further expand its global service footprint, StandardAero’s Singapore repair facility is working to correlate its engine test cell and operations in anticipation of becoming an Authorized Maintenance Repair and Overhaul Center (AMROC) to serve customers throughout the Asia Pacific Region.

“Our strategy is to be the leader in multiple helicopter engine programs.  The addition of the RR300 is an important element in our growth strategy.  Additionally, our history of providing custom built engine overhaul and repair solutions further demonstrates our long term commitment to and leadership,” Atwal added.
