Unison Now Owns Elano
Unison Industries says it has merged with Elano Corporation.
Elano will operate as a division of Unison Industries and will
report to Unison’s management team. Elano is located in
Dayton, Ohio and also operates facilities in Canada and Thailand.
Initially, Elano will continue to operate under the Elano name, but
will eventually become a part of the Unison Industries brand.
Elano Corporation was founded in 1950 by Erv Nutter and Lee
Otterson (ELANO) and is a diversified business that offers
advancements in design technology and engineering expertise. In
1986, after years of exemplary support for GE Aircraft Engines,
Elano was purchased by the General Electric Company (GE) and made a
wholly owned subsidiary.
Elano’s products and services include the design and
manufacture of tubing, ducting, and brackets for aerospace engine,
nacelle, engine build-up (EBU), and airframe applications and the
repair and overhaul of engine and aircraft ducting for commercial
airlines and MRO facilities. The Elano division of Unison is one of
the world’s largest OEM of aircraft engine tubing, ducting
and manifold assemblies for jet engines.
“Elano is a first-class operation with a record of doing
whatever it takes to meet commitments and add value to its
customers’ business,” said Unison’s President,
Brad Mottier. “These are the same values present at Unison.
In addition, this merger is important because it now allows engine
and airframe customers an opportunity to simplify their
tubing/ducting and wiring harnesses supply demands and tap into
centralized configuration management services being offered by
Unison.”
