Wright Family Fund Contributes To EAA'S Distance Learning Program

The Wright Family Fund, a charitable foundation administered by the descendants of the Wright brothers, has committed more than $37,000 to the EAA AirVenture Museum for EAA's education and distance learning programs. The gift comes in conjunction with the much-anticipated centennial of powered flight in December 2003.

"The Wright Family Fund's generous gift will allow EAA to help thousands of students and others to discover the magnificent world of flight," said Lee Siudzinski, EAA's Vice President of Education. "EAA can now reach more people during the Wright flight's 100th anniversary activities this December, as well as explore the potential for expanded museum educational offerings and outreach programs."

Amanda Wright Lane and Stephen Wright, the great-grandniece and great-grandnephew of the Wright brothers, respectively, attended EAA AirVenture 2003 at Oshkosh and participated in a special evening program reflecting on the Wright's first flight and its impact on the world. They have also been active in activities for EAA's flight centennial celebration, Countdown to Kitty Hawk, presented by Ford Motor Company.

The Wright Family Fund, based in Dayton (OH) is a 501(c)(3) charitable foundation that supports education and innovation programs in America.
