Avidyne Announces TSO Approval Of New EX600 MFD

TSO Approval Allows Avidyne To Begin Deliveries Of Newest Radar-Replacement MFD

Avidyne Corporation announced Monday they have received Technical Standard Order (TSO) approval for their recently-introduced EX600 Multi-Function Display (MFD).

“I am really excited about getting the new EX600 installed in my aircraft,” said Avidyne customer, Michael Alper. “After looking at all of the available MFD options, I specifically chose the EX600 because I really liked its ease of use, plus I found the QuickPan feature to be an incredibly useful safety feature.”

“The EX600 represents the latest in MFD capability for general aviation airplanes and helicopters, and builds on Avidyne’s innovation and leadership in the radar-replacement MFD category,” said Patrick Herguth, Avidyne’s Chief Operating Officer.  “This TSO approval allows us to begin shipments of the EX600, which means aircraft owners can now add or upgrade to the most feature-rich and easiest-to-use MFD available.”

The EX600 is a full-function MFD that is designed to enhance situational awareness and safety for pilots of general aviation airplanes and now for helicopters as well.

All EX600s include the ability to display CMax approach charts & worldwide airport diagrams, as well as support for European VFR Charts—which provide an added measure of situational awareness during critical phases of flight and while taxiing, both domestically and internationally. CMax subscription services are available through Jeppesen.

With interfaces to nineteen different radar models, the EX600 is the leader in radar-replacement MFDs, meaning it can act as a display replacement for many out-dated and un-repairable CRT radar displays, while adding significant situational awareness and utility enhancements. EX600 pricing starts at $9,990 for the standard MFD, including CMax Electronic Approach Charts, Worldwide Airport Diagrams, and standard interfaces for traffic and color lightning.
