'First' Commercial Flying Car Fills Out Its Panel

Aspen Avionics reports that the Evolution 1000 Primary Flight Display has been selected by manufacturers of the PAL-V, the first flying car. After being the first flying car to get road permission for Europe, PAL-V is now also reportedly the first to finalize the full certification basis with EASA. Based on PAL-V's 10 years of test results, EASA specialist teams finalized the requirements for the PAL-V Liberty including the installation of the Aspen Evolution 1000 Primary Flight Display.

Bell Global Training Academy Leads Efforts to Reduce Aircraft Carbon Emissions

Bell Textron will begin incorporating Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) into all Bell Training Academy (BTA) and customer demonstration fleet aircraft. Bell will be the first rotorcraft customer to receive SAF supply from Avfuel Corporation. The Right Rear Check Cable “Came Loose” From The Fuselage Attach Fitting

On March 4, 2021, about 1500 Alaska standard time, a Cessna 185F, N1848R, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Skwentna, Alaska. The pilot and three passengers were not injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. The pilot reported that, after takeoff from a remote frozen snow-covered lake, with the hydraulic-wheelski-equipped airplane, the right rear check cable “came loose” from the fuselage attach fitting. The right ski then rotated to a nose high position as he maintained control of the airplane.

AD 2021-07-05 Retains All Inspections For Certain Serial-Numbered MRBs

The FAA is superseding Airworthiness Directive (AD) 2007-26-52 which applied to certain Agusta S.p.A. (now Leonardo) Model A109C, A109E, and A109K2 helicopters. AD 2007-26-52 required inspecting for swelling, deformation, bonding separation, and for a crack on each main rotor blade (MRB) with a certain part-numbered tip cap installed, and removing the MRB from service before further flight if any of these conditions exist and exceed the prescribed limits. This AD retains all inspections for certain serial-numbered MRBs, but for MRBs with a certain tip cap installed, this AD requires dye-penetrant inspections rather than visual inspections. AD 2021-06-10 Prohibits Operation Of An Airplane With Any Inoperative Refuel Valve

The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for all The Boeing Company Model 747 series airplanes and Model 767 series airplanes. This AD was prompted by a report of an un-commanded fuel transfer between the main and center fuel tanks. This AD prohibits operation of an airplane with any inoperative refuel valve (fueling shut-off valve) failed in the open position. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products. This AD is effective April 28, 2021.
