Moon Express Signs Historic Launch Agreement

Company Contracts Rocket Lab For Three Private Missions To The Moon Beginning In 2017

Moon Express believes it is one step closer to becoming the first private company to land a spacecraft on the Moon. The company signed a contract with Rocket Lab on Sept. 30 to launch three Moon Express robotic spacecraft to land on the Moon starting in 2017. Moon Express is the first company in history to secure such a contract.

Century Mark Attained With Launch Of Morelos-3 Satellite

United Launch Alliance (ULA) successfully launched its 100th mission Friday with an Atlas V rocket carrying the Morelos-3 satellite for Mexico’s Ministry of Communications and Transportation. The mission, procured for Mexico by Lockheed Martin Commercial Launch Services, launched at 6:28 a.m. EDT from Space Launch Complex-41.

Pentagon Restricts Pilots Under 136 Pounds From Flying The Aircraft

The Pentagon has restricted pilots weighing less than 136 pounds from flying the F-35 because of an issue with the ejection seat. Tests have shown that below that weight, the seat would rotate too far forward during a low-speed ejection, possibly causing neck and back injuries.
