Southwest Airlines 737-300 Depressurizes In-Flight

NTSB Sends Investigative Team To West Virginia

The NTSB is dispatching investigators to look at a Southwest Airlines jet that made an emergency landing in West Virginia yesterday after a hole opened in the body of the plane and the cabin lost pressure.

Guardsmen from Texas and Oklahoma assisted local firefighters over the weekend as they worked to extinguish wildfires about 20 miles east of Austin, Texas, and in Major County, OK. Soldiers from Texas' 1st Battalion, 149th Aviation Regiment responded with two UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters carrying 600-gallon "Bambi" buckets to help put out the flames.

Pilot Successfully Used Ballistic Parachute

The NTSB has released its preliminary report for an incident in which an Urban Air SRO UFM-13 Lambada went down after apparently beginning to break up in mid air. The pilot successfully deployed the aircraft's ballistic parachute, and was uninjured.
