Ramstein Receives First Of 14 C-130Js

Super Hercules Transports Critical To USAFE

On Tuesday, representatives of the US Air Force welcomed the first of 14 new Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] C-130J Super Hercules aircraft that will be permanently based at Ramstein Air Base. During a ceremony that included dignitaries from across Europe, US Air Forces in Europe (USAFE) Commander Gen. Roger Brady acknowledged the C-130Js critical contribution to the mission of USAFE.

The National Transportation Safety Board determined Tuesday a September 2007 engine fire on an American Airlines jetliner was probably due to an unapproved and improper procedure used by mechanics to manually start one of the engines.
