Embraer's Light Jet Makes Phenom-enal First Flight

Phenom 300 Takes To Skies Earlier Than Forecast

Embraer's Phenom 300 successfully took to the air on its maiden flight Tuesday from the company’s Gavião Peixoto test runway. In the coming months, the first Phenom 300, serial number 99801, will participate in the flight test campaign along with three additional Phenom 300 jets. It is expected to enter service in the second semester of 2009.

With new FAA requirements for flight critical electronic instruments in place, Mid-Continent Instruments responded with updated certifications on three popular products. The 4200 series 2-inch attitude indicator, the 4300 series Lifesaver 3-inch attitude indicator and the MD420 Emergency Power Supply all received FAA approval for higher levels of HIRF and lightning protection per the RTCA DO-160E environmental specification.

Dart Helicopter Services announced Monday its subsidiary Apical Industries Inc., has received EASA approval of their Tri-Bag Emergency Floatation System for Eurocopter EC135 helicopters.
