Aero-News has learned a helicopter flying for the Georgia
Governor's Drug Task Force crashed Tuesday afternoon near the town
of Rockmart in the northwest part of the state. The helo, type
unknown, was reportedly participating in a drug reconnaissance
mission at the time of the accident.
Abdel Nur Faces Extradiction To US With Two Others
Police in Trinidad reported Tuesday Abdel Nur, the fourth
suspect wanted in connection with the alleged plot to detonate
explosives along a fuel pipeline feeding New York's JFK
International Airport, has surrendered to authorities.
What, exactly, happened onboard a recent Northwest Airlines
flight from Minneapolis to Boston? That's the question federal
investigators are now contemplating, while a former police officer
is being called a hero for his role in subduing two passengers.
Opponents Question Safety Of Consolidated SoCal Facility
Terminal airspace controllers working from a temporary facility
at Palm Springs International Airport in southern California will

Four-Plane Fleet Will Be Used To Ferry 787 Assemblies To

Boeing announced Monday its Dreamlifter, the specially modified
747-400 used to transport the major assemblies for the 787
Dreamliner, was granted type certification on Saturday, June 2,
from the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
An Aviat Husky A-1B participating in a weekend mountain safety
flying clinic in the Elkhorn Mountains in Montana was reported
missing Sunday afternoon after disappearing from radar.

Recently increased fees imposed by European Aviation Safety
Agency regulators to certify Boeing's upcoming short-haul variant
of its 787 Dreamliner are too high, says the planemaker, and as a
result Boeing has withdrawn its application request for EASA
certification of the plane.
United Airlines flight attendants, represented by the
Association of Flight Attendants-CWA, AFL-CIO, tell ANN they are
appalled at a new customer service policy announced by United
Airlines management last week.
Suit Calls Routine Inspection "Cursory And Inadequate"
The insurance company for Porter Valparaiso Hospital Campus
filed a federal lawsuit Thursday against the pilot and owners of a
medical helicopter over a failed takeoff in July 2005.
United Space Alliance Says Atlantis Launch Would Be
Unaffected
Add one more reason NASA hopes it is able to send Atlantis
skyward by the end of this week. On Saturday, the union
representing about 570 space shuttle program workers at Kennedy
Space Center voted to strike as early as June 10.
For the STS-117 launch of Space Shuttle Atlantis, NASA managers
are urging all aircraft pilots and boaters to fully comply with the
airspace, bridges and waterway restrictions imposed around Kennedy
Space Center prior to and during shuttle launches and landings.
Says Tear "Consistent" With Damage Caused By Foreign

Investigators with the National Transportation Safety Board are
looking closely at the possibility baggage handlers at Syracuse
Hancock International Airport accidentally caused a 12-inch gash in
the side of a DC-9 earlier this month, that later forced the plane
to make an emergency landing in Buffalo, NY.
Unit Recovered, Lockheed Martin "Thoroughly" Investigating
A couple of thieves made off with an Apache helicopter targeting
system after breaking in to Lockheed Martin in Orlando by cutting a
hole in a door Wednesday.

pride in announcing a significant aviation accomplishment on the

all accredited as Master Instructors by NAFI, their professional
aviation education association.
