Air, Inc. Holds DC Job Fair

FedEx, Southwest, UPS and Many Others To Attend August 20

FedEx, Southwest and UPS are among the airlines attending AIR, Inc.’s Airline Pilot Career Seminar, Airline Forum, & Job Fair in Washington, DC, Saturday, August 20th, at the Sheraton Crystal City Hotel. More than 300 prospective pilots looking for airline jobs will get to meet face-to-face with more than 50 recruiters. At least 20 major, national, regional, fractional, foreign, passenger, and cargo airlines attending the job fair are looking for qualified and experienced candidates.

More than 5,251 new airline pilots have been hired YTD - a total of 10,000 new jobs are estimated for 2005, according to Air, Inc.

The seminar is designed to help civilian, commercial, and military pilots in their pursuit of an airline pilot career by providing them with information on the airline pilot job market, job search planning, written tests, simulator checkrides, and employment medical exams. During the Airline Forum, attendees learn first-hand from airline recruiters what their future hiring plans are and what the airlines are looking for in their applicants.

The job fair provides an opportunity for the attendees to personally deliver their résumés, meet one-on-one with key airline recruiters, schedule an interview, even interview and get a job on-site. Mesa Airlines will be conducting on-site interviews during the job fair Saturday evening.

Higher Power Aviation, a Part 142 training center based in Dallas/Fort Worth, TX, has donated a choice of a free B-727, B-737, or MD80 SIC Course, valued at $4,250, to be given away to one lucky attendee.

Six separate workshops are offered throughout the weekend, Aug. 19 & 21, 2005. The workshops featured are Crew Resource Management, Resumes/Applications, Military-to-Airline Transition (Fri & Sun), Interview Survival, and Testing and Simulator Check.
