Say, Isn't That YOUR P-38?

Daniel Webster College Offers Aircraft Sponsorships For 2005 Aviation Heritage Festival

Imagine the bragging rights -- "Yeah, that's my P-38 over there." In a real sense, you can lay such a claim at Daniel Webster College’s 2005 Aviation Heritage Festival (AHF).

The New England event in late September offers a weekend of more than three dozen legendary and current military aircraft, distinguished speakers, flyovers and aerobatics displays, historic aircraft rides, and family fun for all ages September 24 and 25th.

Promising to appeal to all ages and interests, pilots and aviation enthusiasts alike, the AHF offers an unprecedented lineup of aircraft from all eras of aviation, including the “Golden Era,” WW II, the Korean War, Vietnam War, Modern Era Military Aircraft, Experimental aircraft, and modern commercial and general aviation airplanes.

In addition to ticket sales, the other sources of supporting this event are airplane sponsorships, which offer unique benefits, including the opportunity for an airplane ride sometime during the festival, in addition to two general admission tickets and two tickets to the opening lobster dinner Friday, September 23. Sponsors are also noted in the program book and have an informational sign in front of “their” plane. Sponsorships help underwrite maintenance, fuel and related expenses. Daniel Webster College is a non-profit institution and monies raised go directly to supporting the costs of the festival.

Aircraft sponsorships are available for the following aircraft:

  • Lockheed P-38 Lightning
  • Curtiss P-40 Warhawk
  • Republic P-47 Thunderbolt
  • P-51 Mustang
  • C-54, The Spirit of Freedom/Berlin Airlift
  • Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress
  • Consolidated B-24J Liberator
  • North American B-25 Mitchell
  • Supermarine Spitfire
  • Chance-Vought Corsair
  • McDonnell TA-4 Skyhawk

Promoters of the festival say the appearance of a P-38 Lightning at an air festival in New England is a first, and is expected to be a big attraction and draw visitors from around the region.
