Fourth Lawsuit Filed In July Skydiving Plane Crash

Claimant One Of Only Two Survivors Of Accident

A survivor of a Missouri plane crash filed a lawsuit this week... the fourth such lawsuit connected to the July 29 accident.

Steve Parrella, 46, was one of only two survivors from the downing of a skydiving plane near Sullivan, MO. The crash rendered Parrella paraplegic... and he is still hospitalized from injuries sustained in the accident.

The Associated Press reports this is the fourth suit filed as a result of the accident... and like the three previous filings, engine maker Pratt & Whitney is named as a defendant.

As Aero-News reported, the NTSB is focusing its investigation on the DeHavilland DHC-6 Otter's two turboprop powerplants. A witness said she heard the engine quit just before the plane came down in her backyard.

Parrella's lawsuit also names Quantum Leap Skydiving Center -- among others -- as defendants.

The suits were brought by Kansas City attorney Gary Robb, who has also filed suits on behalf of the parents of three other crash victims.
