Swiss Firm First To Sign Letter of Intent For 787-VIP Completion

Client Prefers Identity Remain Confidential

Jet Aviation Basel in Switzerland recently signed a letter of intent with a confidential client from the Gulf region for the VIP completion of a Boeing B787-9 Dreamliner. The green aircraft will be delivered to the Basel facility in 2011 with an expected completion downtime of 15 to 18 months.

The client is the first to book a slot for the completion of a VIP version of the newest Boeing aircraft model, said the company.

"We are very proud of our long standing relationship with this client and are extremely pleased to have been awarded with this exciting project for his Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. Currently, our Basel engineering team is working closely with Boeing to become familiar with the aircraft's advanced design and new composite material," stated Norbert Marx, senior vice president and general manager at Jet Aviation Basel.

The company said it has been working on an interior package for the Boeing 787 for more than two years. In 2005, it partnered with yacht and corporate aircraft interior designer Peder Eidsgaard on a project to create concepts for the next generation of corporate aircraft.

The Basel facility was the first completions center to present a full interior design of a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner created by Eidsgaard, at EBACE 2006 in Geneva.
