Approved: Frasca's TruFlite H

Frasca International's new reconfigurable helicopter FTD, the 'TruFlite H,' has received FAA approval for both IFR and VFR training. Approval was given for IFR training 30 days after delivery and VFR approval was given after another 30 days. This short approval time is significant, as other devices have taken up to a year to achieve similar approvals. Frasca expects additional approvals as the devices prove their capabilities.

The first TruFlite H was delivered to Silver State Helicopters 90 days after receiving the order. Silver State Helicopters have ordered a total of 10 units. The device can be configured for the S300, R22 and R44 aircraft. Additional TruFlite H Models are available for turbine single and twin helicopters. Additional customers include the University of North Dakota who have ordered a Bell 206/S300 TruFlite H, and the NYPD who have ordered an Agusta A119 Koala TruFlite H.

The TruFlite H utilizes technology developed for Frasca’s Level 6 Flight Training Devices and Level C Full Flight Simulators. This technology has been repackaged into a cost effective form for the light helicopter training market.

The device reportedly includes very realistic aerodynamics and is capable of providing VFR training in maneuvers such as hover, autorotation, settling with power, dynamic rollover and sloped landings.
