BRS: Johnson Resigns as VP; Moves Into Marketing

Ballistic Recovery Systems has announced that Dan Johnson resigned his position as Vice President of Sales and Marketing and has assumed the role of an Independent Contractor providing marketing, advertising, and Public Relations services. After 17 years as BRS vice president, Johnson and BRS president and CEO, Mark B. Thomas, signed an agreement for Johnson to continue to work with BRS as it enters its next phase of growth as the world leader in emergency parachute systems.

"We wanted to harness Dan's talents in a way that works best for BRS and for Dan," said Thomas. Additionally, Mr. Johnson will continue to represent BRS as he serves on industry Boards and panels. Thomas commented, "Dan is well known in the aviation community through his writing and BRS is pleased to retain his knowledge and experience." The new role combines effectively with Johnson's work as an aviation author for six publications.

BRS has begun its search for a full time Vice President of Sales and has named Stewart D. Siebell as interim Sales Manager to work through the transition. Gregg Ellsworth has been reassigned to manage inside sales, customer relations and to continue his work as coordinator of trade shows and to conduct customer and dealer training.

BRS will be announcing new products and other exciting developments to further expand its leadership in the industry as the leading aviation innovator of aircraft safety. Since the early 1980s BRS has delivered over 18,000 parachute systems to aircraft owners around the world. Actual documented uses of these systems are credited with saving the lives of 158 persons through July 2003.
