JetBlue Selects Hamilton Sundstrand for 10-Year Maintenance Contract

Hamilton Sundstrand has entered into a 10-year exclusive agreement with JetBlue Airways for repair services in support of JetBlue's fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft.

JetBlue has firm orders with Airbus for 96 A320 aircraft through 2016 with options for 50 more between 2008 and 2013.

The agreement provides maintenance support for Hamilton Sundstrand's electric power generation, cabin pressure control and emergency power systems for JetBlue's V2500-powered A320 fleet.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

"Hamilton Sundstrand takes great pride in its close business partnership with JetBlue," said Mike Dumais, vice president of Hamilton Sundstrand Customer Service.

"Our team has been closely engaged and aligned with JetBlue crewmembers to maximize dispatch reliability and deliver the highest quality of service throughout JetBlue's growing A320 fleet."

"We selected Hamilton Sundstrand for their long-standing experience in commercial airline maintenance capabilities -- in particular their vast experience with Airbus aircraft," said Tom Anderson, JetBlue's senior vice president of Technical Operations and Aircraft Programs.

In the six years since its launch, JetBlue Airways has focused on creating a new airline category -- an airline that offers value, service and style. Based in New York City, the low-cost carrier currently serves 34 destinations with 410 flights daily.

Hamilton Sundstrand employs approximately 16,000 people worldwide.
