Dallas Airmotive Signs Engine Maintenance Contract With Austrian Airlines

Long-Term Deal Covers MRO For Rolls-Royce Tay Engines

BBA Aviation Engine Repair and Overhaul company Dallas Airmotive recently signed an exclusive, long-term maintenance contract with Austrian Airlines for maintenance, repair and overhaul of the airline's Rolls-Royce Tay engines.

"We credit this contract to the strong relationship we have developed over the past decade with Tyrolean and Austrian airlines," commented Dallas Airmotive President, Hugh McElroy. "The length of the contract reflects the commitment of Austrian to remain in Fokker operations, and our commitment to remain in the Tay support business for at least several more decades."

In addition to Airbus and Boeing aircraft used on long range routes, Austrian operates a fleet of nine Fokker F70 and 14 F100 regional airline aircraft serving points across Eastern and Western Europe. The F70 is powered by two Tay 620-15 engines and the F100 by two Tay 650-15s.

Dallas Airmotive will provide repair and service bulletin work, mid-life inspections and overhauls out of its Dallas, Texas overhaul facility. Dallas Airmotive has been a Rolls-Royce authorized overhaul facility on the Tay engine since 1985 and has serviced thousands of these engines that are used in both commercial airline service and business and general aviation.

"We are pleased and honored by Austrian's choice of Dallas Airmotive for this work," said Dallas Airmotive Vice President International Sales, Willy Harmon. "The trust they put in our service bears testimony to the quality of our workmanship and our focus on the customer."

Dallas Airmotive is one of the largest independent, OEM-authorized repair and overhaul facilities in the world for small gas turbine engines.
