DRE Communications Unveils Standard Headset With High End Features

Entry-Level Unit Priced For Students, Private Pilots, Flights Schools

DRE Communications as just unveiled its newly upgraded DRE-1001 headset, saying the new model includes many of the features typically found on high end units.

The new DRE-1001 comes with gold-plated plugs and cabling that meets Mil-Spec requirements. The headset features a full flex boom, dual volume controls and a noise-canceling electret mic. A padded stainless steel headband connects two rugged ABS ear cups which house high-fidelity headphone drivers. Gel ear seals can be added as an option. The DRE-1001 delivers an impressive 24db of passive noise reduction with excellent clarity and sound. It is available for either fixed or rotary wing aircraft.

The new DRE-1001 sells for $130.95 and weighs less than a pound.

DRE says the headset's price point makes it attractive for a wide range of applications, from flight schools to student pilots to aircraft owners looking for quality headsets. "We encourage pilots to take a good look at the headsets available on the market," says DRE's Pat Hartley. "That makes it easier for someone to see the DRE-1001 is clearly one of the best standard headsets you can buy."

DRE Communications also manufactures the new stereo active noise reduction DRE-6001 headset, priced at about half the cost of many competing ANR headsets. The company also produces the high-end passive DRE-4001 at $193.95. In late summer DRE will introduce a new premium stereo portable intercom that comes with an optional mounting flange for panel mounting in your aircraft. All DRE Communications products come with a full 3 year factory warranty.
