Upgraded: Jay LaFoy, New President of L-3 Avionics Systems

L-3 Avionics Systems has appointed Jay LaFoy as President of the company, which is part of L-3 Communication’s Aviation Products business area. In this role, Mr. LaFoy will oversee all aspects of the L-3 Avionics Systems business, which is a leading supplier of avionics products for the general aviation, business jet, military and commercial air transport markets. Mr. LaFoy will report to Kris Ganase, president of the L-3 Aviation Products business area.

Mr. LaFoy has over 25 years of aviation industry experience in the areas of operations, manufacturing and MRO. He joined L-3 Avionics Systems in 1996 as the director of operations and he has held a variety of increasingly responsible positions there, including managing the Florida MRO business, and most recently serving as executive vice president. Prior to that, he held management positions at Goodrich Aerospace.

“Jay is results-oriented and has become a valued contributor to L-3,” said Mr. Ganase. “We look forward to him leading Avionics Systems.”

Mr. LaFoy holds an associate degree in business management from Champlain College. In 1992 he completed an Executive Education Program at the University of Michigan Business School.

L-3 Avionics Systems provides a wide array of avionics technologies designed to improve situational awareness and enhance safety, such as the GH-3000 electronic and J.E.T. standby instruments, the SkyWatch Collision Avoidance System, the Stormscope Weather Mapping System, the SmartDeck Integrated Flight Controls and Display System and the new Trilogy Electronic Standby Instrument, among
others.
