Chelton FlightLogic EFIS Adds WSI InFlight, Graphical Aviation WX

One Of The Most Advanced Flightdeck Systems Manufacturers Partners With #1 In Aviation Weather

Chelton Flight Systems and WSI Corp. today announced the integration of Chelton's ground-breaking FlightLogic Synthetic Vision EFIS and WSI Corp.'s FAA certified in-flight weather system, WSI InFlight. Tapping FlightLogic's integrated GPS data for exceptional precision and accuracy, WSI InFlight will overlay WSI NOWrad(R) radar mosaic weather imagery and other mission critical aviation weather data on the moving maps of the FlightLogic Multi-Function Displays (MFDs) to deliver the clearest picture yet of real-time conditions affecting an aircraft.

The FlightLogic system provides superior situational awareness and is the first and only EFIS to provide 3-D Synthetic Vision with HUD symbology, GAPS/WAAS, Highway-In-The-Sky technology, embedded TAWS, and support for leading weather and traffic systems. "WSI is widely respected as the #1 company in aviation weather services. With the addition of WSI InFlight capabilities, FlightLogic now offers general aviation pilots even greater awareness, control and safety -- consistent with our company vision," said Gordon Pratt, President of Chelton Flight Systems. FlightLogic is TSO'd and STC'd for immediate installation in over 650 aircraft.

The WSI InFlight system uses satellite technology to continuously broadcast the most accurate, up-to-date weather and related mission critical information to any aircraft equipped with WSI's special purpose antenna and receiver. "WSI InFlight is a great match for the advanced situational awareness and display capabilities of Chelton's FlightLogic system. We are very pleased to be working with Chelton, given their strong appeal with pilots of owner-flown business aircraft seeking improved safety and reduced pilot workload," said Lynne Wilson, Executive Vice President of WSI's Aviation and Marine Business Group.

WSI InFlight delivers the industry's highest quality radar mosaic, WSI's NOWrad(R), depicting areas of rain, snow and mixed precipitation, along with echo tops and movement, graphical and textual surface observations (METARs) and Terminal Area Forecasts (TAFs), plotted SIGMETs and AIRMETs direct to the cockpit. WSI InFlight builds on the strength of WSI's Pilotbrief service, trusted and used daily by thousands of aviation professionals in corporate flight departments, FBO's, major and regional airlines, and FAA Flight Service Stations. WSI Pilotbrief was again voted the #1 weather briefing service in Professional Pilot magazine's annual reader poll for the fifth year in a row.

Commercial release of the FlightLogic - WSI InFlight interface is scheduled for Q1, 2004. Each company will distribute and service its own products through their Authorized Dealer networks. Chelton's FlightLogic EFIS ranges from $54,000 to $160,000 depending on configuration and the WSI InFlight NOWrad interface may be included for no additional charge. List price for WSI InFlight is $4,995 for FAA certified equipment, plus a monthly subscription fee.
