Complimentary myWingMan For Student Pilots And Instructors Who Qualify
A new program to support aspiring career-track student pilots and their instructors who are enrolled in approved FAA Part 141 flight training programs was announced Tuesday by Bendix/King. The Bendix/King Educational Support Program provides complimentary copies of the company’s Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) an in flight application for the iPad – via myWingMan. The program will begin to accept applications at the end of the month.
The myWingMan application for the iPad platform was initially released in late 2012 and was defined by Bendix/King. The app provides an intuitive flat user interface, providing immediate access to the right information and tools for pilots when they are needed, both in the air and on the ground, without distraction.
This Educational Support Program will allow qualified students and faculty of approved FAA Part 141 flight training programs to install the IFR version of myWingMan, free of charge, onto their own iPads. The myWingMan application will be available to eligible students and instructors directly from the Bendix/King website by following the Education Program link and providing the required student or instructor information. The user will be provided with a one year IFR subscription which includes all charts, data, airport procedures, weather, NOTAMs and airspace restrictions. FAA Part 141 flight programs will need to be registered with Bendix/King prior to automatic subscription approval being implemented.
“Bendix/King is pleased to support the next generation of professional pilots with tools to help them reach their career goals, said Roger Jollis, Vice President of Marketing for Bendix/King. The myWingMan application delivers on one of Bendix/King’s five brand promises: innovative avionics designed with intuitive user interfaces, allowing pilots to focus on flying the aircraft without unnecessary distraction.”
