Aero-News Proudly Introduces Our AirVenture 2008 Staff

Say Hello To Senior Video Producer Sarah Curtiss!

With the final days before the official start to EAA AirVenture 2008 counting down all too rapidly... and, not quickly enough... ANN's senior staff is all-too-aware of the Herculean task ahead of us in reporting EVERYTHING that's news at The World's Greatest Aviation Celebration.

Fortunately, this year we'll have some help... and some really GREAT help at that. Over the next several days, we thought we'd take the time to introduce you to the staff members -- both full-time, as well as our "stringers" -- who will be bringing our readers and listeners all the news from Oshkosh that's fit to pixilate, orate and videotape this year.

And now, without further ado...

Sarah Curtiss

Filling the role as Senior Producer, Sarah Curtiss will be attending AirVenture for the first time as part of the Aero-TV crew. After completing her studies at Indiana University, Sarah attended Brooks Institute of Photography for visual journalism. There, she focused her creative energies on human-interest documentaries, including an award-winning documentary film shot over a six-week period in China.

"To be able to immerse myself in another's life experience and bring that voice to the world, that is my passion in life," Sarah says.

Now, venturing into the aviation field, she knows that she has the opportunity to continue to share extraordinary stories and achievements. "I grew up listening to aviation stories; it's been a wonderful transition from listening to the stories to finally being able to tell them," she says. "I always knew that one day I would find my way to aviation, but doing so in this way has been a pleasant surprise."

Sarah is extremely excited about the challenge of capturing Oshkosh. She knows there will be monumental moments to shoot throughout the week, from the Rocket Racing demos to the Boeing Dreamlifter; yet, she believes there will be equally monumental achievements occurring all around Oshkosh. "The atmosphere that we will be surrounded by, that pure love for aviation, will be an amazing moment for us all to share."

While she misses being out on the field with a camera in hand, Sarah finds a lot of satisfaction in her role as Senior Producer. "I see myself as the traffic controller for our crew," she concludes. "I make sure that everyone takes off on the right runway in the right direction, but it's so neat to watch them fly. I couldn't be more honored to lead such a talented and dedicated team."
