USAF Global Strike Flyover Ready To Support Super Bowl 55

Bombers Will Conduct A First-Of-Its-Kind Trifecta Flyover

Three different Air Force Global Strike Command bombers will conduct a first-of-its-kind trifecta flyover during the National Anthem performance at the fifty-fifth Super Bowl, Feb. 7 over Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. “We are very excited for Team Whiteman to lead the formation Air Force Global Strike Command bombers,” said U.S. Air Force Col. Jeffrey Schreiner, 509th Bomb Wing commander at Whiteman Air Force Base. “The opportunity to showcase assurance to our allies, flexibility and our commitment to the nation is a true honor.”

NBAA Cancels Events Through June 2021

Oregon International Air Show announced today that the 2021 air show scheduled for the Hillsboro Airport has been postponed due to concerns related to COVID-19 and will be rescheduled to May of 2022 (dates to be finalized shortly). The show was originally scheduled for May 21-23, 2021. The Oregon International Air Show scheduled for July 30-Aug. 1, 2021 at McMinnville Airport featuring the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and the U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptor remains on as scheduled.

NTSB Prelim: Cessna 172 (A1); Aero Commander 500 (A2)

A Cessna 172 Was Substantially Damaged When It Collided With An Aero Commander 500 While Landing

On November 25, 2020, at 0009 eastern standard time, a Cessna 172, N8125U, was substantially damaged when it collided with an Aero Commander 500, N777CM, while landing at Dekalb-Peachtree Airport (PDK), Atlanta, Georgia. The Aero Commander sustained minor damage. The pilots of both airplanes were not injured. The Cessna was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 91 personal flight. The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for all Dassault Aviation Model FALCON 7X airplanes. This AD was prompted by a report of deviations concerning the assembly and overhaul of certain crew oxygen mask stowage boxes, including incorrect application of a certain thread-locker on the fitting sensor screws. This AD requires an inspection of certain crew oxygen mask stowage boxes for discrepancies, and replacement if necessary, as specified in a European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) AD, which is incorporated by reference. AD: Hélicoptères Guimbal Helicopters

AD 2021-02-20 Prompted By A Report Of A Crack In A Rotating Scissor Fitting

The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for all Hélicoptères Guimbal Model Cabri G2 helicopters. This AD was prompted by a report of a crack in a rotating scissor fitting. This AD requires an initial and repetitive inspections of certain rotating and non-rotating scissor fittings, and depending on the results, replacing the affected assembly. This AD also prohibits installing certain main rotor hubs (MRHs) and swashplate guides unless the initial inspection has been accomplished. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products. This AD becomes effective February 22, 2021.
