Bad WX Can't Keep USCG From A Rescue Op

Rescues Injured Sailor 46 Miles Off San Luis Obispo

The Coast Guard medevaced a 27-year-old man from a commercial cargo ship more than 46 miles west of San Luis Obispo, Friday. The captain of the motor vessel Hyundai Jupiter, a 1060-foot bulk carrier, contacted 11th Coast Guard District command center watchstanders requesting assistance for a passenger who reportedly suffered injuries from a 16-foot fall. Watchstanders launched a Coast Guard Air Station Sacramento C-27J Spartan aircraft and a Coast Guard Air Station San Francisco Forward Operating Base Mugu MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew to assist. Once on the scene, the Dolphin crew lowered the rescue swimmer, along with a stretcher, to hoist the patient into the helicopter and transported the man

15th Northrop Grumman Resupply Mission Launches to ISS

Cygnus Is Scheduled To Arrive At The Space Station Around 0440 Sunday

A Northrop Grumman Cygnus resupply spacecraft is en route to the International Space Station with approximately 8,000 pounds of science investigations and cargo after launching at 12:36 p.m. EST Saturday from NASA's Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia. About three hours after launch, the spacecraft's solar arrays successfully deployed to collect sunlight to power Cygnus on its journey to the space station. The National Transportation Safety Board has announced its decision to postpone the planned March 9, 2021, board meeting for the 2021 – 2022 Most Wanted List of Transportation Safety Improvements. The agency postponed the meeting to further refine the proposed list of safety items. The NTSB will announce the new board meeting date when it is added to the board calendar. NTSB Prelim: TL ULTRALIGHT SRO STINGSPORT

The Engine Did Not Respond To Full Throttle

On January 15, 2021, about 1116 eastern standard time, a TL Ultralight SRO StingSport airplane, N404N, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Hollywood, Florida. The pilot was not injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. According to the pilot, he arrived at North Perry Airport (HWO), Hollywood, Florida, about 1015 and he intended to conduct an 88-minute flight to The Florida Keys Marathon International Airport (MTH), Marathon, Florida. He took the cover off the airplane, conducted a preflight inspection, and engine run-up with no anomalies noted.
