'A New Low' -- Bloomberg Engages in Bizarre Anti-Aviation Idiocy

Bizjets Cause Homeless Shelter Crowding? Really?

News/Analysis/Opinion By James R. Campbell, CEO/Editor-In-Chief Yes... we live in interesting times -- the point of a well-known Chinese curse, I'm told... But the amount of idiocy being displayed by people trying to destroy a uniquely American industry... once that needs hundreds of thousands of people world-wide, has just hit a new low... and we're scratching our heads trying to understand the rationale -- outside of the fact that the President and others in Washington have attacked the multi-billion dollar industry and its hundreds of thousands of affiliated jobs for cheap political points.  This time, New York Mayor and Helicopter pilot(!) Michael Bloomberg seems to be positing that h

Time is fast ticking down to a date the entire ANN staff looks forward to every year. TSA Approved New Uniforms As Sequester Loomed

Some Of The TSO's New Duds Will Be Made In Mexico

In what appears to be a classic example of Washington's "spend it before it's gone" mentality, TSA signed a deal for the manufacture of new uniforms for TSOs ... some of them to be made in Mexico ... just days before the sequester kicked in. The new uniforms reportedly will cost U.S. taxpayers about $50 million.

United Holds Flight So That A Passenger Can Make An Important Connection

AIA Vows To Continue Fight Against Sequestration

Association Calls On President, Congress To Reverse Budget Cuts ASAP

The Aerospace Industries Association is likening the implementation of sequestration to a hostage crisis, and in a statement released late last week, the association said "they've shot the hostage and the American people will take the hit. Aero-News: Quote Of The Day (03.11.13)

"...this Bloomberg quote not only sets a new low, but makes one wonder when we might have to institute some manner of 'sanity/stupidity' protection system against politicians and public officials who resort to bizarre and indefensible nonsense to deflect criticism or examination of the real issues that this country needs to address. But then again, and to quote the late and great Will Rogers... 'Thank God we're not getting all the government we're paying for...'" Source: ANN CEO/Editor-In-Chief, Jim Campbell, commenting on some truly questionable remarks that seemed to suggest that bizjet owners may be responsible for homeless shelter overcrowding in the city of New York.
