Embraer delivered the 150th Legacy 600 jet it has produced to
the German operator DC Aviation. This is the seventh Legacy 600 in
the customer’s fleet, and it will be used for charter flights
in the Europe and Middle East regions.
A senior Defense Department spokesman dismissed Iranian-sourced
reports that a US military aircraft had been forced down in Iran.
The Iranian reports he has reviewed contradict themselves, Pentagon
spokesman Bryan Whitman told reporters Tuesday.
Bombardier Aerospace announced Tuesday that Brit Air in Morlaix,
France, has signed a contract to acquire six additional Bombardier
CRJ1000 NextGen jetliners. The transaction involves the conversion
of six options taken with Brit Air's original order for eight
CRJ1000 NextGen aircraft. That order was announced on February 19,

Below is the unedited transcript of the National Transportation
Safety Board's preliminary report on the September 19 takeoff
downing of a chartered Lear 60 at Columbia Metropolitan Airport
(CAE) in South Carolina.

Benchmark Program Adds 10 More Aircraft, Including G3
Conklin & de Decker recently released the 2008 Volume II
Aircraft Cost Evaluator software, aimed at making it
easier to compare operating costs for more than 490 business
aircraft models. This aircraft operating cost benchmarking tool is
part of a family of aircraft acquisition and management data
products created by Conklin & de Decker (NBAA Booth #4734) and
is now available with aircraft and simpler navigation.
Business flight... with a "conscience." That's the marketing
pitch behind so-called "carbon offset" programs now bandied by
umpteen airlines and private jet ownership companies. FlexJet
announced Monday at NBAA it will be the latest to jump on the green
bandwagon, signing with offset provider Climate Care to sell offset
credits to the fractional's customers.
Mesa Air Group, Inc. has appointed Paul Foley as its new Chief
Operating Officer. In its announcement, the company stressed that
Michael Lotz will remain President and Chief Financial Officer,
with a focus on restructuring the company's business.
Initial Order To Help Launch Indian Investment Venture
Hawker Beechcraft Corporation (HBC) announced an order Monday
from UK-based property developer and investment company ISIS Group
for 10 Hawker 400XPs. The total value of the contract with options
is in excess of $70 million.
Swiss planemaker Pilatus had little in the way of new
announcements at NBAA 2008, but they didn't seem to mind... as
interest in the company's PC-12 NG single-engine turboprop is
keeping the company quite busy, thank you.
American Eurocopter had reason to cheer this week at NBAA 2008.
The single-engine EC120 has become the best-selling helicopter in
its class, outselling its competitors by more than two to one
during the past five years... and the larger EC130 is rapidly
finding buyers in the segment, as well.
Approval Adds To Satcom Availability On Gulfstreams, Citation
ARINC Direct and Rockwell Collins announced this week at NBAA
2008 the awarding of a contract for installation and certification
of the Rockwell Collins eXchange satellite broadband communication
system on a Boeing Business Jet.
North Texas MRO Operation Expects Authorization This
Jet Works Air Center has announced they are seeking a
Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for the Rockwell Collins
AHS-3000S Attitude Heading Reference System (AHRS) to be installed
on Learjet 31 series aircraft.
Mid-Continent Instruments has spent years examining Attitude and
Heading Reference Systems (AHRS) and solid-state digital
technology. Monday at NBAA 2008, Mid-Continent introduced an ETSO
certified AHRS, the AX1.
Despite the turmoil outside the sunshine state, the business avation industry is still doing business... and lots of it. NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen welcomed Attendees of the NBAA 61st Annual Meeting & Convention at this morning's Opening General Session, which featured distinguished speaker Roberto Kobeh González, International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) president, along with Ron Kaplan, executive director of the National Aviation Association Hall of Fame, who announced this year's recipient of the Combs-Gates Award.
