First CASA-Certified Plane Offering Both Entegra, G1000
Aero-News received word from Down Under this week that Columbia
received Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) certfication for
the manufacturer's Garmin G1000-equipped 350 and 400 models -- the
first foreign market to certify both Avidyne Entegra- and Garmin
G1000-equipped aircraft for local registration.

Most planes look good... a few are beautiful... and then there
are those designs you can't quite put your finger on, but when you
see them you just know they're right. In our opinion, the
new Glasair Sportsman 2+2 equipped with Montana Float Company
amphibious floats deserves a firm place in the latter category.

Aero-News learned this week that Dr. Rocco A. Petrone, who
served as the third director of NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center
in Huntsville, AL in the early 1970s, passed away August 24 at his
home in Palos Verdes Estates, CA. He was 80.
Avemco has announced a 'noteworthy change' to its Safety Rewards
Program. Developed with cooperation from Cessna Aircraft Company,
the new initiative expands the availability of premium credits
available though Avemco’s popular program.
Representatives with Canada's Kitchener Aero told ANN this week
a major Canadian energy sector company and long-time KAAV customer
recently purchased a new Eurocopter EC120B "Colibri". The
helicopter was flown directly to KAAV for avionics completion and
special missions modifications following delivery from the
manufacturer.
