continues as Bethany, OK's Commander Aircraft Company has
proceeded from the protection of Chapter 11 bankruptcy (which would
have allowed for reorganization) to a seemingly final Chapter 7
A USAF T-37 jet trainer from Sheppard AFB has been involved in a
Tuesday midair collision with a crop dusting aircraft. The
collision shortly before noon local time at an altitude estimated
at 5000 feet. The collision occurred over rural southwestern
Bombardier’s new-generation Global Express XRS business
jet has successfully completed a rigorous 4-hour, 4-minute first
flight, marking a significant milestone for the much-anticipated
intercontinental aircraft. The flight occurred Jan. 16, according
to the program schedule established at official launch in October
2003. The first Certificate of Airworthiness is expected shortly
and customer deliveries of completed aircraft are on schedule to
begin in the first quarter of 2006.

AOPA Working With GA-Based International Aid Organization, Air
The images and statistics from the Southeast Asian tsunami have
been overwhelming. As the scope of this tragedy continues to grow,
pilots are among the millions of Americans asking the same
question: What can I do to assist the relief effort? The Aircraft
Owners and Pilots Association has received an ever-increasing
number of e-mails and phone calls from members asking for guidance
on this subject; some even suggesting they volunteer to go to
Southeast Asia to fly in the relief effort.
Wide-Cabin, High-Speed G150 On Schedule for First Customer
Delivery in 3Q/06
Gulfstream Aerospace has roiled out the first wide-cabin,
high-speed G150 business jet aircraft. First announced in September
2002, the G150 remains on schedule for customer deliveries in the
third quarter of 2006.
The Civil Air Patrol has signed a corporate partnership
agreement with AirGator, a New York - based aviation company.
AirGator specializes in navigation and situational awareness
products for aviation, marine and public safety communities.
Last Sunday, January 16, 2005, PrivatAir launched its new
business class only private airline service between Zurich and New
York's Newark airport on behalf of Swiss International Air Lines.
The route is operated on an ACMI basis 6 days per week (every day
except Saturday) with a brand new 56 seat Boeing Business Jet
Airmen, along with servicemembers from more than 14 nations, bid
farewell to the 20th Secretary of the Air Force Jan. 18th. Deputy
Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz presented Air Force Secretary
Dr. James G. Roche the Department of Defense award for
distinguished public service upon his retirement.
In the midst of the all the hullabaloo associated with the
official rollout of the Airbus A380, a new livery for the Airbus
aircraft family was unveiled on 18 January 2005, with the first
public presentation of the company's new flagship, the A380.
Yesterday, I suggested that the Transportation Security
Administration had yet to hit rock bottom. A news story I read
reassured me that, while the Agency hadn't hit that elusive target
yet, it sure hadn't stopped trying.
