Banyan Avionics Expands Into Large Business Aircraft

Completes Installs On Gulfstream, Falcon... AND Private 747

Avionics installer and repair outfit Banyan tells ANN the company recently completed installations on three large-size aircraft; a Gulfstream IV SP (Entertainment), a Falcon 900B (Infra-Red Enhanced Vision System) and a private Boeing 747SP (TW550 TV, High Speed Data/ WI-FI) which was done in Europe.

Projects currently underway are a Boeing BBJ (High Speed Data/WI-FI) and a Gulfstream III (Entertainment).

In addition to providing avionics for King Air, Citation, Lear Jet, Pilatus and other mid-sized aircraft, Banyan has tooled up and has added factory trained technicians for the larger aircraft.

The catalyst for this expansion is Brian Wilson, Banyan's director of avionics, who joined Banyan in 2007.

Wilson has teamed up with Paul Rose, Banyan's vice president of sales. They have worked together in the past and have over 23 years each in South Florida and a combined avionics experience of 60 years.

"Companies always strive to expand their business capabilities and adding the larger aircraft to our resume is a perfect fit; High Speed Data/ WI-FI is what the business traveler wants and the cost and configuration is conducive to the larger corporate aircraft. The days of traveling on a corporate or commercial aircraft and arriving at your destination only to hurry to the hotel and hook your laptop to the DSL line are over, VIP clientèle desire better and now that technology has arrived. Now passengers enjoy the same Blackberry experience and Internet cruising they enjoy in their home or office," says Brian.

With fuel prices at an all time high and the US Dollar at an all time low, Brian has also developed an avionics travel team that is available for remote work in the United States, South America and Europe. "The projects we have done in Europe saved the customer a substantial amount since payment was in US dollars instead of the Euro."

Banyan's avionics department has dedicated hangar space, a structural team, and technicians available for comprehensive avionics installations, repairs, and modifications. Banyan is recognized for top regional sales for Rockwell Collins, has earned FAA Diamond Awards, and is an authorized dealer for all major avionics manufacturers.
