Don't Mess With The Mouse: Disney TFRs Published

Ya Gotta Wonder About TSA's Sense of Priority...

There's nothing worse than an "I Told Ya So..." and this time is no exception. As surmised by the staff at ANN, more shoes are dropping in the progressive closing of our nation's airways and airspace to its citizenry.

Shortly after hearing that New York was getting an ADIZ and that Washington's was being reinforced (both situations are now in effect even though the NOTAM has yet to be seen!), we now have learned both major Disney theme parks have fallen under the thrall of being the latest areas to forbid normal overflight by the nation's aviators.

Earlier; a very stationary Phil Boyer (staying near Washington and making ready to deal with future, expected, bureaucratic nightmares) noted that, "While AOPA and general aviation pilots are more than willing to do what's necessary to protect the nation from credible security threats, we're very concerned about 'ADIZ creep' and the operational problems they bring," said AOPA President Phil Boyer. "An ADIZ can severely disrupt general aviation operations, affecting the businesses and transportation needs of thousands of people. Let's make sure the security threat is real and significant before once again shackling the lives and livelihoods of American citizens."

We're not sure as to the priorities these actions express, or what this might imply for the future, but then again, if anyone should know how to deal with Mickey Mouse, its the TSA and FAA...

Herewith, the applicable TFRs.
