Air Journey's 2nd South American Adventure Underway

Flying To The "Tip Of The World"

For the 2nd year, Air Journey is readying for a Journey to South America with 4 planes and 12 people to the "Tip" of the World. After 12 days, 5 countries (Cayman Islands, Panama, Ecuador, Peru and Chile) and 6,000 miles, the group has now reached the most southern tip of South America, Ushuaia at the Beagle channel and Cape Horn.

The group has already flown to the Panama Canal of the Modern World, and Macchu Pichu, known as one of the Wonder of the World. On the way back from Cape Horn they will stop in Iguacu Falls of the Natural World.

They will also enjoy the Unesco biosphere of Torres Del Paine, a world heritage site- beautiful glaciers and untouched wilderness! And then Buenos Aires , the Paris of South America, Rio de Janeiro, Belem and the Amazon, Cayenne, the isle of Spices and the Caribbean.

The Group has already decided to mix flying, discovery and fun, enjoying the different activities Air Journey has prepared for them as fly fishing, hiking…Sophie and Thierry Pouille, managers of Air Journey, have prepared every single step of this Journey.

The group left Florida with a detailed itinerary, the flight plans for every single leg tailored made for each aircraft, all the charts and immigration forms, price information on fuels, airports fees and one Pilot Extraordinaire from Air Journey, Jean Pierre Arnaud, a veteran of South America flying.

Prior to every flight, Jean Pierre is giving the group a detail briefing about the flight and files the flight plan for each aircraft. He will check the weather for them and if the weather does not allow the group to fly, the program will be changed and adapted. Sophie Pouille in Florida will make all the necessary changes regarding the hotels, the sightseeing…

"We look at the security of the Pilot first", says Thierry Pouille, who joined the group in Santiago for 10 days.

"We know how to manage the reservations; we only fly at no risks".

After 32 days, 12,800 NM and 8 countries, the PC12, a Piper Meridian, a Piper Malibu JetProp Conversion and a Piper Malibu will head back home.

Air Journey is already planning the 2007 South American excursion, and leads private pilots to the Caribbean, Central America, South America and Europe. Customers can choose from either all inclusive fully escorted journeys or fly independently, with a customized solution.

For any type of Journeys, Air journey organizes every single step of the Journey and provides its customer with all the documentation needed (navigation log, charts, immigration forms…). Air Journey has been created by Sophie and Thierry Pouille in 1998. A pilot since 1973, Thierry has flown all over the world with his Beechcraft Baron and is a member of the Travelers Century Club.
