Biofuels Approved For Use In All HBC Turbine Powered Aircraft

Company Is An Initial Founding Member Of The Aviation Green Alliance

Hawker Beechcraft Corporation (HBC) announced this week that all of its turbine-powered aircraft are now approved to use biofuels - a renewable resource that can help reduce the use of fossil fuels and minimize carbon emissions. To be used in HBC aircraft, they must meet American Society for Testing and Materials International (ASTM) turbine fuel standards.

HBC's efforts to ensure its fleet can utilize environmentally-friendly biofuels coincides with its decision earlier this year to become a Founding Member of the Aviation Green Alliance, a program of The Lindbergh Foundation. "As the initial founding member company in the Aviation Green Alliance, HBC has an outstanding platform from which to advance aviation-environmental initiatives," said Bill Plucker, HBC advanced design program manager.

The Lindbergh Foundation announced the formation of the Aviation Green Alliance in February of 2011. Hawker Beechcraft became the initial Founding Member of the organization in April. The Lindbergh Foundation is a public 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization based in Anoka, MN, which focuses on technological breakthroughs to address significant aviation-environmental issues.
